Sugar Free Cranberry Sauce

One of my favorite Fall item is Fresh Cranberries. I love it in muffins, scones, cookies and in cranberry sauce. I went to Trader Joes yesterday and picked up a pre-made cranberry sauce. I looked at the sugar content in the back and quickly placed it back on the shelves. Do not get me wrong! I had it before and it is delicious! I just could not justify eating 25g of sugar in 1 serving. (24g of it all added sugar) I rather eat that much sugar in a cookie or ice cream!

Easy dump and go recipe and best of all 0 added sugar.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz whole cranberries
  • 1 orange zest
  • 1 orange juice
  • 1 tsp honey, stevia, sugar substitute, monk fruit
  • 1 tbsp chia seed

Method

  • 1)

    Place orange juice, orange zest, cranberries in a 1.5 quart crockpot

  • 2)

    Add 1tsp honey and stir.

  • 3)

    Cook on Low for 4 hours.

  • 4)

    Stir in Chia Seed

  • 5)

    Optional: add additional sweetener if needed.

  • 6)

    Turn off Crockpot and let it cool. During that time the chia seed will thicken.

Makes total 1 +½ cup jam
